da poker: Newcastle United are in the market for reinforcements and could now be about to land a heavy discount on one of their targets to bolster Eddie Howe’s forward line.
Newcastle see off Bournemouth in dramatic fashion
da 888: The FA Cup is always a competition that carries an element of unpredictability and Newcastle found themselves at the centre of an eventful clash against Bournemouth on Saturday, to say the least.
In the end, Aaron Ramsdale emerged as the hero as the Geordies saw off Howe’s former club to reach the next round, making inroads on yet another front as they look to bring silverware home to the North East.
Post-match, Newcastle’s manager paid tribute to the mentality of his side, claiming that momentum built up across multiple tournaments can move the Magpies closer to achieving something special this campaign.
He said: “The result just keeps the good feeling going. We want to keep the momentum going into the season. We experienced two semi-finals last season that were incredible. I think it’s a great time to be involved with Newcastle. We have the Champions League to come. The will to win has taken us into the latter stages of the League Cup. We have every reason to be enthusiastic about the future.”
With potential recruits likely to be enticed by Newcastle’s ambition, there is plenty to be optimistic about, not least the fact that Atalanta trio Giorgio Scalvini, Ederson, and Honest Ahanor are wanted at St James’ Park.
Wesley Franca is also of interest, displaying that Howe is keen to put his budget to good use by strengthening several positions within his squad.
However, he may now actually be after one of Franca’s compatriots, someone he could add to his side at a discounted rate amid recent developments.
Newcastle could complete discounted Rayan deal
According to Chronicle Live, Newcastle are targeting Vasco Da Gama attacker Rayan and could land him for just £20 million despite the Brazilian star possessing a £69 million release clause in his current contract.
The buyout stipulation has been deemed as unrealistic, and the Magpies’ new scout Thomas Federspiel is keen to find untapped gems from across the globe to strengthen Howe’s already impressive outfit.
Dream for Gordon: Newcastle want "best coach in the PL" to replace Howe
Newcastle United are reportedly eyeing up a manager who would be perfect for Anthony Gordon.

Becoming one of the hottest properties in his homeland, Rayan scored 20 goals and registered one assist in 57 appearances across 2025 and now looks set for a new challenge on European soil, certainly living up to scout Ben Mattinson’s view that he is “deadly in the box.”

Newcastle already have the likes of Anthony Gordon and Harvey Barnes in the wide areas alongside Jacob Murphy, though you can never have enough exciting talent and strength in depth during the rigours of a season where you are hoping to compete across several competitions.
Now, it remains to be seen if the Magpies do business at the £20 million mark or whether they will pass on the chance to acquire a new offensive import.
