da pinup bet: It has been less than a fortnight since Norwich City head coach Philippe Clement revealed that Josh Sargent made himself unavailable for selection to face Walsall in the FA Cup.

da bet esporte: Since he messaged the Belgian boss to withdraw himself from the squad, the Canaries have won three out of three games and scored 12 goals, with a 5-0 win over West Bromwich Albion in the Championship last time out.

Mathias Kvistgaarden scored his fifth goal of the league season, from just four starts, whilst Sargent has only scored seven goals in 23 starts in the division, per Sofascore.

The day after the colossal win over the Baggies, it was reported that the USA international had a heated row with sporting director Ben Knapper and has made it clear that he will not apologise and wants a move to the MLS, amid interest from Toronto.

It is an incredibly difficult situation for the club to manage, given Sargent’s hardline stance on wanting a return to North America, but it is a situation that could be made easier by some incoming business.

Norwich pursuing deal to sign Champions League striker

The importance of keeping Sargent or getting him back onside would lessen if Knapper can get a deal done to bring a replacement to Colney in the coming days.

Mega money deals, controversial moves and big-name flops. This is the home of transfer news and opinion across Football FanCast.

According to the Pink Un’s Friday morning newsletter, Norwich City are continuing to pursue a deal to sign Bodo/Glimt centre-forward Kasper Høgh before the end of the January transfer window.

The update reveals that the club have had ‘positive signals’ from the Danish marksman’s camp in talks over a possible transfer to East Anglia, which suggests that the player does have some interest in a move to England.

Norwich are said to have been eyeing a move for the 25-year-old fox in the box for some time, and they have not been put off attempting to snap him up by his two goals against Manchester City in the Champions League on Tuesday night.

It adds, though, that it remains to be seen whether or not the Canaries can work out an agreement with Bodo/Glimt, after BBC Norfolk’s Rob Butler suggested that a fee of £6m would be enough to get a deal done earlier this week.

Why Høgh is a perfect Sargent replacement

Signing Høgh from the Norwegian side would allow Norwich to finally part ways with Sargent, as long as there is a relatively acceptable offer on the table from Toronto or another team, because they would already have his replacement in the building.

A situation Knapper may be looking to avoid is one where Sargent is sold for big money without a replacement signed, which then lets any team they negotiate with know that they have plenty of money to play with.

Bringing in Høgh, days after he scored twice against Pep Guardiola’s side in the Champions League, would take the pressure off Knapper and the board, allowing them to handle the situation with the American striker without having to worry about what they need to do after he leaves.

The Bodo/Glimt marksman’s performances in the 2025 campaign even suggest that he has the potential to arrive at Carrow Road as an upgrade on how Sargent has performed this term, if he can carry his form over to English football.

As you can see in the table above, the Danish attacker plundered 17 goals in 28 league games for Bodo/Glimt last year, ten more than Sargent has managed in the Championship this season.

The most interesting thing to note from those statistics is that Høgh, despite not always being the cleanest striker of a ball or the most aesthetically pleasing finisher, increased the xG of his chances with the quality of his shots in the Eliteserien.

Sargent, however, significantly decreased the xG of his chances for Norwich in the second tier, with his xG on target suggesting that he has even been fortunate to score seven goals.

This means that, in theory, Knapper could improve Clement’s team by replacing him with the prolific Bodo/Glimt striker, who may offer more of a clinical edge in the final third if his form carries over to the Championship.

Their respective success rates in duels also suggest that the Canaries would not lose much in the way of physicality in the number nine position by replacing the former Werder Bremen man with Høgh, provided he can adapt to English football.

Therefore, Norwich could wave bye-bye to Sargent and finally put this saga to bed by landing a deal to sign the Dane first, as he could ease any worries about what life after the wantaway star moves on looks like.
