da cassino: After Florian Lejeune’s injury, Newcastle now need to find a replacement before the transfer window closes.
da imperador bet: While Mike Ashley managed to bring in Fabian Schar to strengthen the club at the back, he still needs to dip back into the transfer market to find another defender to bolster Benitez’s options at the back.
The club need a player who can come in straight away and improve the club while also having adequate Premier League experience. While there have been rumours of a few defenders, Newcastle should be looking at a deal for Manchester United defender Marcos Rojo.
According to reports, the Argentinian defender is close to a move to Everton but if Newcastle can, they should try and hijack the deal for the former Sporting Lisbon man.
The Breakdown
While on the face of it, Newcastle’s deal for the Argentinian defender may seem slightly outlandish, with the imminent arrival of Lucas Digne, Rojo’s potential playing time may be under threat.
Rojo hasn’t always impressed since he’s been at the club but a player of his calibre for United would be a shrewd piece of business by Mike Ashley.
However, as well know, the Newcastle owner isn’t a fan of splashing the cash on players, and if the £30 million fee is correct, there’s no chance of it going through. It might be more suitable that Newcastle might be able to get the defender on loan, only if he can take a slight pay cut.

It’ll be a tough deal for the Toon but potentially a good one.
